Smart, persistent, direct, and collaborative, Joy is a big fan of maintaining conceptual clarity and integrity with every project she takes on. The breadth and depth of her diverse career are what make her an exceptional consultant. She’s held leadership roles as a biochemist, communications professional, and instructional design consultant—and has a penchant for unpacking anything technical or challenging to make it simple, useful, and actionable. From designing and implementing field training programs for utilities workers, to teaching English to graduate business students in France, Joy thrives on teamwork, sound strategy, short- and long-term planning, and the ability to laugh at herself.
Joy holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Reed College, attended the École Normale Supérieure de Cachan in France as an advanced student Fulbright grantee in chemistry , and holds a master’s degree in social sciences from the University of Chicago.
